New engines for the Alfa Romeo 159 range

Alfa Romeo 159The new engine installed in the 2011 Alfa Romeo 159 range generates 136 horse power and 350 Nm of torque at only 1750 rpm. Being a euro 5 engine, the CO2 emissions are lowered to only 134 g / km for the Saloon model and only 137 g / km for the SportWagon. The new 159 range features 3 trim level, "Turismo" with the "Lusso", designed for comfort and TI, dedicated to a sporty feel.

 "Turismo" comes with 6 airbags, electric front and rear windows, dual zone automatic climate control, new sports cloth upholstery, cruise control, front fog lights, car radio with CD/MP3 player and eight speakers, Blue&Me™ (Bluetooth® hands-free system).

The steering wheel and the gear knob are covered in leather. The "Lusso" has a darkened interior, the center console and the steering wheel are aluminium black and the dashboard and door trim inserts chrome black. The "TI" run on 19-inch spoked alloys (16" on the Turismo;17" on Lusso), has new side skirts, lowered suspensions and red brake callipers.

The interior of the "TI" is also covered in Sports and Alcantara leather, the TI logo is printed on the pedal unit and kick plates. As an option, new carbon fibre inserts on the center console and steering wheel can be purchased.

Besides the 2.0 JTDM engine, the 159 range gets 2 new units, a 200 HP turbo petrol and a 2.0 L JTDM engine delivering 170 HP. All models are equipped with standard safety features, like VDC, ASR anti-slip function and 6 airbags (2 front, 2 side and 2 window).
