If you own a BMW, you know that your car is a step or two at least above so many other passenger vehicle models on the road, but that doesn’t mean you can get complacent. BMWs don’t necessarily hold their resale value as well as other luxury vehicle makes, and that means you’ll have to do more than just maintain your vehicle to retain that value. You can easily add value to your BMW by making a few strategic upgrades to it that are highly appealing to a broad swath of probable buyers, and most will also improve your personal enjoyment of your own car as well.

The all-new, second generation BMW 1 Series occupies a distinctive niche within its segment, offering a unique and rewarding combination of agile, precise handling, improved aesthetics and innovative technology. It remains the only rear-wheel drive car in its class and, with a range of advanced TwinPower petrol and diesel engines, offers a sporty but fuel-efficient proposition boosted by BMW's EfficientDynamics technologies fitted as standard. The previous generation BMW 1 Series has had enormous success selling more than 2.2 million units globally, as well as being the first car in the premium compact segment. The elegant and dynamic styling of the new BMW 1 Series clothes a car that's 83mm longer, 14mm wider and 30mm longer in the wheelbase than its predecessor. These dimensions create a car with increased cabin dimensions and, thus, greater interior comfort. The launch of the BMW 640d Coupé and BMW 640d Convertible sees BMW setting another new benchmark in the premium environs of the exclusive luxury 2+2-seater segment when it comes to efficient driving pleasure. Their predecessors successfully established diesel technology in this class of car. And now the engine that achieved such acceptance has passed on the title of the world's sportiest six-cylinder diesel to its even more powerful and economical successor. The BMW TwinPower Turbo technology of the new six-cylinder in-line powerplant comprises sequential turbocharging (Variable Twin Turbo) and common-rail direct injection with solenoid valve injectors.
