Chevrolet Aveo becomes Chevrolet Sonic

Chevrolet Sonic The big GM confirmed the rumors that Chevrolet's next United States car will be named Sonic. Chris Perry, Vice President Chevrolet U.S. Marketing : "The Sonic represents a new beginning for Chevrolet in the small car segment and so we felt it was time to give it a new name. The new car is roomy, stylish and fun to drive, and Sonic is a youthful, energetic name that helps convey what this vehicle is about."

Chevrolet will still keep the "AVEO" nameplate in other markets. Chevrolet Sonic can be seen in : Canada, Mexico and U.S and it will see the production line in 2011 at GM's factory in Michigan. The factory will restore nearly 1000 jobs in the Detroit area. Two good news in one :)
