Chevrolet Volt - Germany Price Information

The price of the Chevrolet Volt was announced at the press conference held at Geneva Motor Show. At at price of just 41.950 Euros, Chevrolet Volt will also be offered with 8 year or 160.000 km warranty on the Voltec powertrain. Wayne Brannon, Wayne Brannon, President and Managing Director of Chevrolet Europe :
"We believe Volt is the best solution on the planet today for worry-free electric driving. Our price in Europe is based on the U.S. Volt price adjusted for transportation cost, import duties, exchange rates and homologation."

Chevrolet Volt can be driven between 40 and 80 km only in electric mode. Using a low-consumption generator for charging the battery, the range can be extended to about 600 km. Nine seconds is needed to reach the speed of 100 km/h, going up to a max speed of 161 km/h.

Chevrolet Volt can be charged between 3 and 4 h using a normal 230V socket.

The Volt is on sale in California, Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Washington DC. By the end of this year (2011), Chevrolet Volt will be launched in the remaining US states. In Europe it will be released in November this year, just in time to celebrate Chevrolet's 100th birthday.

The company plans to build 10.000 Volt units by the end of 2011 and 45.000 during the 2012. Chevrolet Volt is build at GM's Hamtramck factory in Michigan, US. The battery is built separately , also in Michigan, but at GM's BrownStone Township factory.

Similar prices can be expected for the EU markets.
