2012 Ford Focus ECOnetic Ford released the new ECOnetic, a new model which will go on sale in United Kingdom in 2012. The new Ford ECOnetic achieves a fuel consumption of just 3.5 L per 100 km. The CO2 emissions are also low : 95g g/km. Gunnar Herrmann, Ford's Global Medium Car Line Director :
"The Focus ECOnetic is a testament to our company's relentless drive for technological innovation and commitment to environmental leadership. It's also going to be a great car to drive." Two bodystyles will be available, 5-door and estate.

In terms of hardware, the new Ford ECOnetic is equipped with a 1.6 L Duratorq engine with a new injection system and turbocharger, generating 105 horse power. The new injection system delivers more precise control and an increased fuel combustion efficiency.

The engine is coupled to a 6-speed Durashift manual transmission, special optimized to eliminate the frictional losses.

The full range of technologies currently available in the new Focus line-up, like Auto-Start-Stop, Smart Regenerative Charging, Eco Mode and Shift Indicator Light are incorporated in the ECOnetic. Active Grille Shutter featured in the new ECOnetic is a new system that optimises aerodynamics by using the vents to control airflow through the grille to the cooling system and engine compartment.

The new Focus ECOnetic will pe produced in Germany, at Saarlouis factory and it is expected to that the 1st unit to be delivered in 2012.
