The first images of the 2011 Land Rover Freelander 2 Facelift was released! Freelander 2 Facelift will be available in United Kingdom starting October 2010 and it will be equipped with a brand new 2.2 L engine generating between 150 horse power and 190 horse power. The new turbo-diesel engine will generate 150 horse power and it will feature a manual gearbox, Start&Stop system. 2011 Land Rover Freelander 2 Facelift has a quieter engine, producing less CO2 : 165g/km.

The top speed has been increased, Freelander 2 Facelift needs now 8.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h. The engines has been upgraded from EU4 to EU5, and they are fitted with a diesel particulate filter as standard. Year 2011 will bring in UK an addition to the Freelander 2 range a 2WD derivative. It will be called Land Rover Freelander 2 eD4 and it will have a fuel consumption of just 47.2 mpg combined, and CO2 emissions of just 158g/km. Phil Popham, Managing Director said :

"The new Freelander 2 eD4 moves Land Rover into the hugely popular and fiercely contested two wheel-drive SUV market. The European market for two-wheel drive SUVs represents 23 percent of the segment and we intend to compete strongly here. A 2WD option is just one way in which we are developing our vehicles' efficiency whilst adding to the Land Rover range and expanding our appeal to a broader group of customers. We will continue to make the 'world's finest all-terrain vehicles' for those customers who require 4WD but will also now offer an alternative."

The Land Rover Freelander 2 eD4 is powered by a 2.2 L turbo-diesel engine, generating 100 horse power. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, the model features a Start/Stop technology as standard.

Outside, 2011 Land Rover Freelander 2 gas a brand new look for 2011. A new front bumper wass aded, new front grille finish, improved headlights and tail lamps. Three new color schemes are available : "Kosrae Green", "Baltic Blue" and "Fuji White". They match perfectly with the 18" or 19" alloy wheels.

2011 Land Rover Freelander 4WD TD4 and SD4 models are on sale in the UK from the end of September.
