2010 Peugeot 408 launched in China | Australia next ?

2010 Peugeot 408Built for the China's growing market, the new Peugeot 408 was launched in Beijing. Developed by Peugeot together with China's DFM, the company expects to increase profits by up to 30%, this means 410.000 units.

Ken Thomas, Peugeot Australia :
"Whilst the car has not been officially confirmed for right-hand drive production at this stage, we are quietly confident that it will be in Australia in the not-too-distant future. The car has an extended wheelbase allowing for more interior space and the sedan shape obviously allows for more boot space."

 

2010 Peugeot 408 will come in 2 versions, first is a 1.6 L engine producing 105 horse power, and second a 2.0 L generating nearly 150 horse power. Both engines run on petrol.

According to Peugeot, the 408 has been design to meet 3 objectives :
1. embody the French brand's modern style
2. guarantee maximum safety
3. to offer unrivalled interior space for the Chinese market
