Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is despatching two new stars to the Los Angeles Auto Show 2011: the Porsche press conference in the Convention Centre on 16 November at 12:05 p.m. (PST) will put the spotlight fair and square on the debut of the new 911 Carrera on the American continent and on the world premiere of a model boasting impressive performance and dynamic looks, exuding unadulterated driving pleasure.

Porsche is proud to present the new 911 Carrera, a completely new generation of the iconic coupe that has been acclaimed as one of the world’s benchmark sports cars since its launch in 1963. True to the 911 tradition, the distinctive Porsche design language exudes power and elegance. The unmistakable silhouette still catches the eye while incorporating new, exciting contours and precisely designed details; a 100mm longer wheelbase for improved stability and greater interior space; front and rear overhangs are shorter, maintaining the compact footprint that has been a longstanding 911 attribute; the sporting stance is emphasised by the lower roof line and a wider front track increases on-road presence further still while raising the renowned chassis dynamics.

The new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS will be powered by the same engines also used in the Carrera GTS, the 3.8 L engine from the Carrera S. The engine how delivers with 23 horse power more thanks to the tweaked intake duct, a total of 408 HP and 420 Nm of torque. The Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupe equipped with the 7-speed PDK gearbox reach the 100 km/h mark in 4.4 seconds, while Cabriolet in 4.8 secs. As standard, the 911 Carrera 4 GTS has a 6-speed manual gearbox installed. The PDK (Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe) can be ordered separately.
