2010 Renault Wind - Details ahead of Europe launch

Renault WindJuly will be the month when Renault Europe decided to launch their 2010 Renault Wind, but till then, they released a full set of pictures and details regarding their latest model. 2010 Renault Wind comes with 2 petrol engines : 1) 1.4 L turbo generating 100 horse power and 152 NM; 2) 1.6 L generating 130 horse power and 160 NM. Both engines will be teamed to a 5-speed manual transmission. Renault tried to keep the fuel consumption as low as possible in their 2010 Renault Wind, the 1.4 L engines eating only 6.3 L per 100 km, when the 1.6 L engine is thirstier : 7 L per 100 km.

 

Ms. Beatrice Foucher-Sybord, Renault Europe Product Manager says about 2010 Renault Wind that : "... is clearly aimed at winning over new customers. It will enable us to reach out to motorists with high aspirations who currently don’t feel naturally drawn to our brand. We want 2010 Renault Wind to carve out a significant place in the small, fun to drive car market."

Features like and iPod/USB/MP3 compatible audio system, ESC, cruise control with speed limited and auto headlights and front and head/thorax airbags are also included in the 2010 Renault Wind.

It will be produced in Slovenia, at the Renault's Novo plant, except the engines used in 2010 Renault Wind, they will be build in France and Spain. 2010 Renault Wind is aimed for Europe's small B-segment convertible market, which represents between 75,000 and 150,000 cars per year.
